| Whilst Ravenswood would admit to being Sonoma chauvinists and adopting a parochial attitude towards the rival region of Napa, they have recognised that Napa does offer something a little different to Zinfandel. Perhaps this wine demonstrates the point with its rich quotient of Napa's polished raspberry and cedarwood character. Containing a small amount of Carignane and aged for 18 months in French oak, it offers up bright, ripe plum flavours with a mouth watering acidity and fine tannins followed by a racy, lingering finish of raspberries, cloves, cardamom and vanilla. |
